Coverage period
| What you bought | Covered for |
|---|---|
| New furniture | 2 years from the date of delivery |
| Open Box or Floor Model items | 90 days from the date of delivery |
| Unfinished slabs and countertops | 2 years — materials and workmanship · 90 days — wood movement, if sealed |
The coverage period runs from the date your order is delivered. Where an order arrives in more than one carton, it runs from the date the final carton is delivered. If a delivery date cannot be established, we will use the order date.
If we repair or replace a covered part, the replacement is covered for the remainder of your original warranty period. Repair or replacement does not restart or extend the period.
What is covered
Within the coverage period, this warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in:
- Solid wood components — frame members, rails, legs, headboards, slats, panels, and tabletops
- Joinery — mortise-and-tenon joints, wedges, and connecting hardware
- Structural integrity — the ability of the product to bear its rated load under normal household use
- Included hardware — bolts, connectors, hinges, drawer slides, and extension mechanisms
- Factory-applied finish — against peeling, blistering, or delamination not caused by use or environment
What is not covered
We're not big fans of fine print, but we wanted to be clear about the few limitations we have — and we think you'll agree they're fair.
Normal use and aging
- Normal wear and tear
- Gradual changes in finish colour or sheen from exposure to light
- Minor surface marks, small dents, or light scratches that do not affect function
Damage from handling, environment, or misuse
- Damage during customer-performed disassembly, moving, or relocation
- Damage from improper assembly, or assembly not following the included instructions
- Damage from modification, alteration, refinishing, or repair not performed or authorised by allforwood
- Damage from exceeding the stated weight capacity
- Damage from spills, prolonged moisture, standing water, or humidity outside normal household range
- Damage from prolonged direct sunlight, or placement adjacent to a heat source
- Burns, cuts, tears, gouges, stains, pet damage, or damage from sharp or heavy objects
- Damage from insects, mould, mildew, or other invasive organisms
- Damage from accident, abuse, neglect, or improper cleaning
Use outside the intended purpose
- Products used in commercial, rental, hospitality, institutional, or outdoor settings
- Products used other than as household furniture for their intended purpose
Purchase and ownership
- Products purchased from an unauthorised reseller or on a resale platform
- Products that have been resold or transferred to a subsequent owner
- Open Box and Floor Model items, as to the cosmetic condition described at purchase
Preference
- Comfort, firmness, or aesthetic preference. These are not defects.
Natural characteristics of solid wood
These are properties of the material, not faults:
- Variation in grain, colour, and figure between pieces, or between a piece and a product photograph
- Naturally occurring character marks, mineral streaks, and knots
- Seasonal expansion, contraction, small joint separations, or hairline surface checking caused by changes in humidity or temperature
Where movement goes beyond this — a slat warped enough that it will not assemble, a crack through a load-bearing member, a joint that fails under normal use — that is a defect, and it is covered.
Cut-to-size pieces, slabs, and unfinished wood
Butcher block countertops, table tops, and slabs are covered on the same terms as any other product — including pieces we cut to your dimensions.
We cover our own work. If a cut-to-size piece arrives cut to the wrong dimensions, or with a defect in the wood or in the cut itself, that is covered. Cut dimensions are accurate to within ±1/8 inch; variance within that tolerance is normal for a natural material and is not a defect.
We do not cover your dimensions. If the measurements you supplied turn out not to fit the space, that is not a defect. We confirm your dimensions with you in writing before cutting so you have a chance to check them.
An unfinished piece arrives as bare wood. What happens to it next depends on how and when you seal it, so coverage splits into two parts:
| Covered for 2 years | Covered for 90 days — if sealed |
|---|---|
| Voids, soft spots, or inclusions in the wood | Cupping, bowing, or twisting |
| Failure of a glue joint between staves | Warping |
| A crack originating in a material defect | Surface checking |
| Our cut being outside ±1/8 inch | Shrinkage gaps and seasonal end splits |
| Anything else that is a defect in the material or in our work | Any other dimensional movement of the wood |
We back the wood and our work on it for the full two years, whether the piece was finished or not. A void, a failed glue joint, or a bad cut is our responsibility regardless of what you did afterwards.
Movement of the wood is covered for 90 days, provided the piece was sealed on all faces and edges, in line with the care guidance supplied with your order. A piece left bare, or sealed on the top face only, is not covered for movement — that is what causes it.
Slabs supplied with a factory-applied finish carry the standard 2-year coverage throughout, with no separate movement period.
If you cut, drill, plane, sand, or refinish a piece yourself after delivery, the altered areas and any damage arising from that work are not covered. This does not affect coverage on the rest of the piece for a genuine material or workmanship defect.
Who is covered
This warranty extends to the original purchaser and is not transferable to a subsequent owner.
How to make a claim
Email help@allforwood.com with:
- Your order number, or the name and email used to place the order
- A description of the issue
- Photographs showing the issue clearly — from multiple angles, and including a full view of the product
Photographs are required. We cannot assess a claim without them, and in most cases we cannot obtain them later.
We aim to respond within 1 business day, and to reach a determination within 5 business days of receiving complete information. For orders placed on Amazon, we respond within 24 hours.
Proof of purchase
You will need to be able to show the date of purchase. If you bought from allforwood.com or one of our marketplace accounts, we can normally locate your order from your name and email — you usually do not need to supply anything.
What we will do
If we determine that a defect is covered, we will resolve it at no charge to you. Our aim is always to make the product right — so we start with the remedies that restore it, and move on only if those will not resolve the issue:
- Replacement parts — the affected component, shipped free. Most defects are resolved this way, and it is usually the fastest route.
- Repair guidance — where the issue can be resolved without a part, we will walk you through it.
- Product replacement — a replacement unit of the same or a comparable model.
- Store credit — for the purchase price, where you would prefer it or where a replacement is not available.
- Refund — where none of the above will resolve the issue.
We will select the remedy based on the nature of the defect, the availability of parts, and what will resolve the issue for you. Where more than one remedy would work, we will discuss the options with you before proceeding.
If a part or product is unavailable. If the part you need is out of stock or the product has been discontinued, we will tell you and offer you a choice: wait for restock with an estimated date, accept a comparable substitute, take store credit for the purchase price, or take a refund.
Standard shipping on warranty parts and replacements within the 48 contiguous United States is at our cost.
If a remedy we provide does not resolve the covered defect, contact us again. Accepting a remedy does not end your rights under this warranty for the remainder of the coverage period.
Assembly and use conditions
This warranty applies where the product has been:
- Assembled according to the included instructions
- Used as household furniture for its intended purpose
- Used within its stated weight capacity
- Kept in normal indoor household conditions
Our joinery is designed to be assembled without tools and to be taken apart if you move. Please follow the disassembly guidance in your instructions — forcing a joint can damage it, and damage from forced disassembly is not covered.
Returns, damage on arrival, and missing parts
These are handled under our Returns policy, not this warranty:
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Changed your mind | Return within 30 days of delivery. Only the return shipping is deducted. |
| Arrived damaged | Contact us within 30 days of delivery, including damage found while unpacking or assembling. |
| Missing parts or hardware | Contact us within 30 days. We ship replacements free. |
| Something wrong that's our fault | We pay shipping both ways. No deduction. |
See the full Returns, Refunds & Replacements policy.
Marketplace purchases
If you purchased through Amazon, Etsy, or Walmart, that marketplace's own policies also apply to your order and may give you additional rights. For returns and refunds, the marketplace process is usually the fastest route.
This warranty applies to your product regardless of which of our authorised channels you bought it from. You are welcome to contact us directly at help@allforwood.com for a warranty claim even if you purchased on a marketplace.
Limitations
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the following may not apply to you.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the coverage period stated above. allforwood's liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies described above and will not exceed the purchase price paid for the product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
